School's out for Summer.

Today was officially the last day of school. We had teacher work day, and I finished tearing down my room. It looks like I was never in there in the first place. Whoever said decorating your room the second year wouldn't take as long as the first time is lying. The only thing that will move a little faster is the fact that I know where I want to hang certain things. And I had to take all my books off of book shelves and put in boxes. Yuck. I always thought teachers just packed up there personal belongings on teacher work day, and left the room as is for the following school year. Guess I was wrong. However, I will have to do a little rearranging of my room next fall because I will be getting my very own smartboard installed over the summer! Yay:)

We had a retirement party for our principal last night and someone said something about the "rookie" teachers finishing their first year. Then someone else mentioned that we had only 34 years left to go. Wow, that seems like the longest time ever. Hopefully I enjoy it as much for the next 34 years as I did this year.

Nolan and I are going to Lakeside tomorrow for a day of summer fun. We are starting off the day by going to the African Wildlife Safari in Port Clinton. It's a wildlife park where you drive your car and feed wild animals. I really want to feed a giraffe. Should make for an interesting afternoon. Pictures to come! I also plan to lay out by the lake, beat Nolan in shuffleboard and putt-putt, eat plenty of ice cream and then ride bikes to burn off the ice cream. Should be a fun first day of summer.

I still can't believe my first year of teaching is over!

Oh, and I'm getting married NEXT MONTH!
